Dhading: Twenty-one bodies have been retrieved today alone from the debris of a landslide that occurred at Jhyaplekhola of Dhunibesi municipality-9 in Dhading.
A rescue team that has been mobilized since this morning collected the bodies of 17 males and four females. So far, 35 bodies have been retrieved.
Till Saturday night, 14 bodies were found, according to the District Police Office, Dhading’s police inspector and information officer Prahlad Silwal.
A bus (Na 4 Kha 2270) and a microbus (Jumbo Hiace) with the registration number Ba 2 Kha 1345 were found under the landslide debris today.
On Saturday, a microbus (Lu 1 Jha 4578) was found in the landslide-hit area. The number of vehicle(s) buried by the landslide may go up, police said.
The bodies have been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for post-mortem examinations, according to Silwal.
The Naubise-Nagdhunga area along the Tribhuvan Highway has remained disrupted by landslide and debris flow since Friday evening.
