Janakpur: Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Satish Kumar Singh, on Saturday night visited the Province Hospital, Janakapur following public grievances about delayed care and negligence in the treatment procedures.
The Minister reached the hospital at 11:00 pm to inspect an emergency ward, maternity chamber and ICU.
He also interacted with doctors, health professionals and employees on duty and acquired information about the number of workforce in the hospital, allocations of responsibilities and the duty hours.
Chief Minister Singh directed them to be regular at the working stations and give full duty hours with prompt deliveries. He wanted them not to compromise in terms of responding to patients promptly and rendering quality services.
He also directed government-run pharmacies on the hospital premises to manage sufficient stock of necessary medicines.
During his interactions with visitors, they complained to the Chief Minister about lack of required workforce during night, lack of proper medical care and the shortage of medicines within the pharmacies.
Madhes Institute of Health Science’s registrar Binod Kumar Yadav who arrived at the hospital at the time was asked for taking prompt measures to address the problems.
He said the government is committed to resolving the raised issues, enhancing the quality of services with diversification.
