Kathmandu – The death toll from U.S.-Israeli airstrikes in Iran has reached at least 742, according to human rights groups. This figure includes 176 young girls. Human rights monitors report that in the last 24 hours alone, 85 civilians and 11 soldiers have been killed. Previously, the Iranian Red Crescent Society had reported 555 deaths, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This maritime route is considered vital for the world’s oil supply. Speaking on state television, an IRGC official stated that they are prepared to intercept and target any vessel attempting to traverse this path.
Additionally, the IRGC claimed responsibility for attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia and a U.S. Air Base in Bahrain. According to the organization, 20 drones and 3 missiles were fired at the U.S. base in the Sheikh Isa region. They claim the main building was damaged and fuel tanks were set on fire during the strike.
