Kathmandu, July 11: Heartfelt tribute was paid to Sita Dahal, wife of Prime Minister and Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, on her first memorial day.
At a programme organised at the official residence of the Prime Minster at Baluwatar, family members along with PM Dahal offered wreath and garlanded the photo of Sita Dahal.
On the occasion, Vice-Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Vice-Chairpersons – Agni Sapkota and Pampha Bhusal – as well as party office-bearers and cadres paid tribute.
Remembering Maoist leader Sita as a warrior of change, Vice-Chairperson Shrestha expressed commitment to protect the achievements gained from people’s war and to be devoted to serve the people.
He also laid emphasis on the need of moving ahead making the party further stronger and united. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dahal unveiled a book ‘Smriti Ma Sita Dahal (Sita Dahal in Memory)’. Late Dahal was central advisor of the CPN (Maoist Centre). She had joined the communist movement since 2028 BS.
